Reinvigorated thanks to investments in recent years, the heritage of Bari Vecchia is framed by the horizon that extends over the Adriatic Sea and by wide avenues that contain it to the north and south. BASILICA SAN NICOLA

CATTEDRALE SAN SABINO

The other important church in the Old Town hides a late Baroque crypt built on the ancient Roman foundations and a small medieval church.

CASTELLO NORMANNO SVEVO

The Byzantine heritage of Bari is evident instead looking at the towers and the moat of the Norman Swabian Castle of the twelfth century, which often hosts artistic and cultural exhibitions.

«And everything had taken place in that web of square and regular streets in which, on certain deserted summer afternoons, when there was a mistral, and the air was clear, every corner seemed the point of escape towards an infinity full of promises »

~ G.Carofiglio, Neither here nor elsewhere. One night in Bari.
